I've seen the carbon version in person but that was less unexpected. Hope hubs are likely lighter than the OEM Bontrager branded hubs, but won't be felt as rotating weight because they're so close to the fulcrum of the wheel. Date Build It Unpacking the aluminum Stache 7 I can't help but chuckle at how much frame manipulation is taking place in this 'simple' 29+ hardtail package. We’ll be testing this theory out later this fall as well as getting some time on the new Madone. Trek Greensboro shop owner Chris said the biggest thing you’d notice on the alloy model is the longer wheelbase and geometry rather than the bump absorption. In addition to our review linked above, basic bike info is here.

More info on the alloy Domane and 2013 Trek Madone here.ĭomane WSD Six Series Carbon – 54 – 16lb 3oz (7.34kg) I pushed on the saddle hard and it doesn’t have nearly the flex as the carbon model we reviewed. No biggie if you don't kave many hills but you might want to consider changing the cassette out to a 42t. 2018 one other difference is the gearing on the two bikes. The Lexa is the women’s version of the alloy Domane. It did not feel as playful as the Stache. Now we wait to see if it comes back in 27.5″/650B form. Anyone else notice that the Top Fuel is gone from the lineup? It’s absence is Trek’s way of saying the short travel 26″ XC bike is history.
